Ethos and Values
Statement of Intent
To inspire the highest quality learning in a creative, collaborative and inclusive environment by:
encouraging a love for learning
embracing creativity
including everyone
providing an innovative and challenging curriculum
In order to provide the best primary education for our pupils so that they take with them a ‘love for learning’, able to make a positive contribution to their world.

At Kelsall, Crew is more than just a structure – it is a culture. Our approach to Crew represents teamwork, belonging, and shared responsibility. Pupils and staff work together to build a community that is safe, supportive, and inspiring. We believe that when children feel truly connected, they can grow academically, socially, and emotionally, while also making meaningful contributions to the wider world.
Our Crew culture is rooted in:
Fostering a true sense of belonging for every child in our school community. Belonging goes deeper than simply being included; it is about being valued and accepted for who you are.
Encouraging pupils to be themselves with confidence, knowing that they will be respected and supported.
Building an academic mindset through mutual accountability and shared responsibility for learning.
Practicing respect and empathy, including offering genuine apologies and celebrating the efforts, talents, and successes of others.
Engaging in open and honest conversations, even when the topics are challenging.
Living out the values of Crew every day, in every classroom, and in every interaction.
We are proud to be a school where everyone belongs. We believe that inclusive education is the foundation for nurturing compassionate, resilient, and responsible citizens who are ready to make a positive impact in the world.
