Teaching and Learning Committee

I am delighted to be one of the governors at Kelsall.  My daughter is in Year 3 and we live in the local community.  I am an Assistant Headteacher in a large high school where I lead on Teaching, Learning and teacher development which has clear links to my role on the governing body where I sit on the Teaching & Learning committee.  As a governor, I am committed to supporting the school in ensuring that all of our pupils secure the best possible educational outcomes and develop the ‘love of learning’ that is so crucial for their future success in education and later life.

I am a local resident and deputy headteacher in another local primary school, and have been a qualified teacher for 10 years, during which time I have enjoyed being part of the associated governing bodies and senior leadership teams as well as completing my Masters in Teaching and Learning, and National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership.  My educational leadership and teaching experience will hopefully enable me to support and share good practice to build on the successes at Kelsall Primary School.

Melissa Goodyer

Parent Governor

Term of Office 04.07.19 - 03.07.23

I am a friendly, down to earth mum of two young children.  My eldest starts in the main school in September 2019.

I am currently at home with my children and I have set up my own business and previously worked in HR.

I am fully CIPD qualified, have 12 year HR experience and am a university graduate from Keele.

I have been an active member of the preschool committee in the year leading to the merger with the school.

Jane Briggs

Parent Governor

Term of Office 04.07.19 - 03.07.23

I live in Kelsall with my husband and children, my eldest daughter is a pupil at Kelsall Primary School and by 2021, all my children will attend there which is one of my reasons for becoming a school governor.  Like any parent, I want the best for my children and by taking the role and being involved in the vision and strategic direction of the school and nursery, I feel I can contribute to this.

I have 20 years experience of working in a corporate environment with the latter 6 years working as a senior leader for Shop Direct Group.  I lead a team of 30 people and alongside them work with other departments to set the strategic direction in line with the overall company strategy.

As a senior leader, and more recently, mum of 3, my strengths are people, negotiating, creative thinking, networking and influencing.
