Year 4 - Elm 2020 - 2021
Welcome to Elm Class!
Class Teacher: Miss Cadwallader
Teaching Assistants: Mrs K Crawford, Mrs K Kirwin
Hello Elm Class,
I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and are ready for an exciting summer term.
In our class, we have Mrs Ward (Associate teacher) who will be teaching us during this term. We also have Mr Clayton who will be working with us every Wednesday.
Where the Forest Meets the Sea
‘My father says there has been a rainforest here
for over a hundred million years.’
This half term, we will be focusing on the book ‘Where the Forest Meets the Sea’.
Where the Forest Meets the Sea by Jeannie Baker is a fascinating picture book that encourages us to consider the impact humans have on the environment. When studying this book, we will be looking at the effects of deforestation and the impact this is having on the animals that live there. We will also be researching some of the amazing things young people are doing to make a positive change and discussing how we can play our own part in this. Check out our curriculum map for more information.
PE this term will be every Monday. PE kit is a white t-shirt and black joggers/shorts. We are trying to run all PE sessions outdoors at the moment, so a sweatshirt/hoodie may be needed.
This term, we also have the opportunity to take part in Brass Band which will be happening every Thursday Morning (more information will be sent out).
Mathletics will be set every Friday and will be linked to the maths work we are covering in class. Spelling homework will also be set every Friday on Seesaw.
Don’t forget to check Twitter @KelsallSchool to see what we are getting up to!
