Year 6 - Cedar 2017 - 2018

Hello and welcome to Cedar Class

Together we make an excellent TEAM who work hard to 'Be the Best We Can Be!'

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday-Miss Creek

Friday-Mr Clayton

What a fantastic start we have had to our Spring term! Miss Creek has now joined our year 6 team and is loving every minute of it!

We are continuing with our survival theme this term, focusing on animal survival. In our literacy, topic and science we will be looking at evolution, inheritance and adaptation; starting by studying the life and works of Charles Darwin.

Later in the term we have our CAT 'Twisted Tales' project. This is an exciting opportunity for us to share lots of fantastic writing across our academy trust. Cedar will be investigating 'Fairy tales in a modern world', looking at how characters are portrayed in traditional tales and how they would be different today.

Also happening this term is the AmaSing Concert at the Storyhouse, which is a great opportunity for the children to perform with schools across Cheshire in aid of Macmillan. We also have the Tarporley High School Challenge Days to look forward to and hopefully a trip to Primrose woods. Rob Oakley from the FA is joining us this term to help us develop our football skills and we have plenty of competitions to take part in throughout the term.

Along with all the exciting opportunities mentioned, the children will be working hard this term on the lead up to their SATs. Children will be participating in extra booster sessions, given the opportunity to attend Friday morning SATs club and will have extra MyMaths set throughout the term.

If you have anything that you feel could help with our topic or if you feel you could help out in school, please do get in touch…we love to have visitors!
