Year 4 - Elm 2017 - 2018

Welcome to Elm Class!

Class Teacher: Mrs Morris

Teaching Assistant: Mrs J Lappin

Hello and welcome to Elm class.

In our class Mrs Morris, Miss Saddler and Mrs Lappin will be teaching us. Mr Clayton will be working with us every Monday.

Together we will be further developing the skills of:

Exploration, Investigation,
Making connections, Finding answers & Independence

while ensuring that we work as a TEAM in achieving our aims.

We will also work hard on our core values and make sure we follow our 3R's:

Respect Yourself, Respect Property and Respect Each Other.

It is the start of a new school year. I hope that everyone has had a great Summer break and is now ready for the challenge ahead.

This Autumn Term we will be looking at the theme of Survivors and particularly focussing upon Titanic. This will then lead onto the survivors and the outcomes. We will be looking at the changes in the law for lifeboats and SOS signals as a result of the disaster. I am hoping to organise a trip to a lifeboat station later on in the term.

Our class read is Kasper Prince of Cats by Michael Morpurgo. (the only cat to survive the sinking of the Titanic)

The spellings homework for this half term can also be found on this page.

With the new autumn term now in full flow, we shall be looking at the  RNLI and the work that they do. This follows on from our topic of Titanic and the 'lack of lifeboats' available.
