Year 1 - Beech 2017 - 2018
Class Teachers: Mrs Smith and Mr Devine
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Whiteside, Mrs Crawford, and Miss Noble
Welcome to summer term in Beech class .
There are lots of exciting things happening this term leading on from our fabulous CAT literacy project displayed at Storyhouse over Easter. We will try out recipes from Spanish speaking countries in preparation for our cultural event in May and we've got a spot at the RHS Flower Show. Then of course we have Sports Day and end of year celebrations, so lots to look forward to! Running alongside all of this is our Survivors theme.
'Survivors' is the over-arching theme at Kelsall School this year and having looked at humans and animals we will now think about the environment. Where better place to start than the beautiful countryside around Kelsall. A walk through some historical woodland sites observing signs of spring and building habitats for our woodland friends will provide the starting point for our appreciation of the natural environment. Then we shall consider what happens and how we feel when this beauty is damaged, and what we can do about it. With our Year 5 buddies and the help of the Year 6 Eco reps we will use the Chromebooks to present our ideas on how we can help to look after where we live.
Please do pop in with any information or resources you may feel are relevant to our topic that you would like to share. Help us in our quest to provide a Love For Learning!
